The pair, who were together for more than a year, announced their break-up via a joint statement on social media on Saturday morning.

“We wish to express the gratitude and respect we have for one another as we continue our journeys on different paths.”
The duo said they would not comment any further and requested privacy.
Both Irwin and Buckley appeared to have removed all photographs of them as a couple from their respective Instagram accounts and Buckley also switched her account to private.
While some fans expressed sadness over the end of the relationships, others admitted to being thrilled by the news.
“Hope is restored to many Aussie Girls – Robert Irwin and Rorie broke up,” one person said on TikTok.
While another TikTok user said: “I’m excited for all the single girlies, because Mr Robert Irwin is now a single man.”
The high-profile split comes just a month after widespread speculation that Irwin would soon pop the question to Buckley.
The two were first rumoured to be together in November 2022 but they did not publicly confirm their relationship until July last year.
Their romance was further cemented when Irwin commented on one of Buckley’s Instagram posts with an “I love you!”.
Buckley, who is the daughter of Heath Ledger’s sister Kate, was studying a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy at Perth’s Curtin University before making the move across the country in December to be with Irwin and to take up a job at Australia Zoo on the Sunshine Coast.
“I am honoured to be part of ground breaking research on crocodiles in remote North Queensland,” she wrote on Instagram at the time.
Buckley seemed to have gained the Irwin family tick of approval with both Bindi and Terri Irwin regularly making gushing comments about the pair on social media.
