Raygun cashing in on Olympics break

Australia’s Rachael Gunn was the controversial breakout star of the Paris Olympics. Now, she is cashing in on her global fame.

Raygun has made her next move – signing to a management agency that represents the likes of Love Island’s Adam Farrugia and MasterChef contestant Montana Hughes.

Australia’s most famous Paris Olympian has quietly announced her representation by Born Bred Talent, an agency specialising in promoting TikTok and Instagram influencers.

Raygun, the breakdancing performance name of Sydney’s Rachael Gunn, updated her Instagram profile with the email contact for her new management.

It is an interesting move in contrast to other athletes who have gone with traditional sports management agencies for representation.

Craft and home renovator Brooke Styles is also on the books, as is girl next door Bayley Norris, gaming and alternative fashion lover Caleb Finn, Perth mum Danni Anderson and social media sensation Ibby Akbar.

Rachael ‘Raygun’ Gunn, 36, copped major criticism globally for her strange performance and unique break dancing style – including an odd kangaroo hop. She scored zero points at the games and went viral with the moves, catching the attention of American talk show host Jimmy Fallon and superstar singer Adele.

This also sparked an online petition targeting Gunn, demanding a public apology—a move the Australian Olympic Committee has condemned as “vexatious, misleading, and bullying.”

Earlier this week, the Macquarie University lecturer sent a video message to the Logie Awards in which she boasted of her “signature moves”.

Born Bred most famously looks after The Inspired Unemployed duo Matt Ford and Jack Steele, who were recently dropped by global streaming service Spotify after three seasons of their podcast.

They also attracted national backlash after the pair filmed a prank ata women’s health and wellbeing event as part of a skit for their TV show, The Inspired Unemployed (Impractical) Jokers.

The ‘joke’ saw Steele join a panel including renowned feminists Antoinette Lattouf, Clementine Ford and Yumi Stynes, as “a special guest offering his perspective as a young male” and repeating lines for the audience he was ordered to say via earpiece from the rest of the Inspired Unemployed team.

The event, titled Love Unboxed, was labelled a “fake event” that was “triggering” and “painfully unfunny” by furious audience members.

A Paramount+ spokesperson recently confirmed the skit had been pulled from season two.

Other talent on Born Bred’s roster include athletes Harry Garside and Alex Chidiac.
