IT was radio silence from streaming company Stan on the weekend after one of its biggest stars was charged with sexual assault.
John Jarratt — best known for playing cold-blooded serial killer Mick Taylor in the Wolf Creek franchise — was charged by police on Friday with one count of rape.
He is accused of sexually assaulting an 18-year-old woman in a share house at Randwick in 1976. Jarratt’s lawyer, Chris Murphy, said he denied the allegations.
The 66-year-old actor was issued a court attendance notice and is due to appear at Waverley Local Court on October 10.
Representatives for Stan did not respond to emails, calls or text messages yesterday.
Stan is the streaming company behind the TV series Wolf Creek starring Jarratt, a spin off of the horror film franchise of the same name. As of last night, Wolf Creek was still being promoted heavily on the platform.

The Daily Telegraph was the first to report the rape allegations against Jarratt, revealing last November that a woman had made a statement to Shoalhaven police and the matter was being investigated.
Jarratt strongly denied the allegations at the time.
Wolf Creek is undoubtedly Jarratt’s most recognised role but his career has spanned more than four decades and included appearances in classic Australian films such as Picnic At Hanging Rock, Australia, We Of The Never Never and Little Boy Lost.
Jarratt, who was married and had two children with actor Noni Hazlehurst, has also been a stalwart of Australian television, appearing in favourites such as A Country Practice, Blue Heelers, McLeod’s Daughters and Blue Murder.
He was a longtime presenter on the lifestyle program Better Homes And Gardens.
