BOOTED 97.3FM presenter Mike van Acker has announced a new comedy show called Sacked that will detail his sudden shafting from the Brisbane breakfast radio show.
The broadcaster was cut from the show alongside Bianca Dye in early December, despite having one year left on his contract, with 97.3FM announcing on Saturday that they were reinstating Robin Bailey and Terry Hansen, who van Acker initially replaced in mid-2018.

“I knew it would be the elephant in the room anyway so I thought I may as well throw it together, write about what I know and what people want to hear anyway,” van Acker told Sunday Confidential.
“The show is not anti 97.3 or anti radio. It’s about the process of being sacked, and I’ll talk a little bit about that happens, and of rebuilding and the emotional side of being sacked. I’m not planning on burning any bridges.”
“Terry has already sent a text saying he will come and see it.”
He said he wasn’t surprised by the return of Robin, Terry & Bob, and despite Bailey contending she only signed a contract last Monday, added he had heard rumours of her return.
“I knew there would be changes to the team. There was a rumour around that Robin would be back since September. I thought there was a good chance that I would stay on with Robin and Bob,” he said.
“They told me when they let me go that when I saw the line-up I would understood.”
“Terry has been a good mate to me for 20 years so I think it’s great for him.”
“I was disappointed but I had a wonderful 18 months with 97.3.”
Van Acker said he was in talks with two different radio networks and he felt there was “a very good chance I might have something soon”.
He will perform Sacked as part of the Sit Down Comedy Fringe Festival on March 13 at the sit down comedy club in Paddington.
