Queensland cricketer Chris Lynn and his partner Karlie Andrews have welcomed their first child, baby girl Lily Maree Lynn, with the couple saying they “couldn’t be more in love”.
Lynn and Andrews posted a sweet image of the newborn on their Instagram accounts after she was born last night at Mater Hospital in Brisbane.
“Our princess is here,” Andrews wrote in her post.
“We couldn’t be more in love.”
Lynn said he “bawled his eyes out” when his daughter was born, and hadn’t stopped crying since.
“It’s tears of joy. Holding Lily for the first time has definitely got to be the most special moment of our lives,” he said.
The proud new dad described his partner as an “absolute trooper” throughout the birth of their first child and said they’ve “never felt better” about their new baby Lily.
“I am so proud of her, she can’t get the smile off her face,” he said.
“This is our first child and Lily is simply amazing, and her name Lily Maree Lynn has a beautiful ring to it.”
Friends, family and fellow stars left their congratulations, including swimmers Kyle Chalmers and Shayna Jack, NRL player Matt Moylan and social media influencer Jackson O’Doherty.
It comes just days after it was revealed the former Brisbane Heat captain had turned his back on the Big Bash League and signed for next year’s inaugural International League T20 in the UAE, months after he was sacked from Brisbane Heat.
It is understood players could be offered up to $700,000 for five weeks of work.
Last week Andrews, who is a pilates instructor, shared a video to her profile about her “maternity leave days” which showed her practising the hypnobirthing method.
The birthing method uses calm breathing techniques, deep relaxation, guided meditation, visualisation, positive suggestions and affirmations to reduce pain and anxiety during birth.
