“We’re looking to expand the hospital if we can get another block of land and he did actually say that he would do what he could to try and help us achieve our goal of being able to build what will basically be another wildlife hospital,” he said.

“We’re extremely helpful for any help that he can give us.”

The rock star took a particular interest in the Koalas and spent time with one who was a direct victim of the bushfires called Maryanne.

“He’s obviously very passionate about wildlife himself because he’s involved in wildlife care in the UK.”

Earlier this week May said he “cried buckets” watching the “tragedy of the koalas and kangaroos” in the recent bushfires that devastetd the country.

“A quick resumé of a visit I was determined to make today in beautiful Queensland. Amazing,” May wrote to Instagram after sharing photos and videos of his visit to the wildlife hospital.

“These people are doing an incredible job of caring for the survivors of the tragic Queensland fires. They need our support.”

The Queensland hospital is the only RSPCA in Australia that deals directly with wildlife.

“Our wildlife hospital deals with more wildlife patients than any other hospital in the southern hemisphere not just Australia,” Beatty said.

“We deal with twice as many patients as Australia Zoo and Currumbin Wildlife put together.”

Queen and Adam Lambert will perform in the Fire Fight Australia bushfire relief concert in Sydney this Sunday.

Funds will go directly to rural and regional fire services in affected states, the Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery and the RSPCA Bushfire Appeal.

Big names like Alice Cooper, Olivia Newton-John and Tina Arena will also perform.
