Brisbane Broncos star Payne Haas capped off a stellar weekend with a romantic proposal.
The NRL player popped the question to girlfriend Leilani Mohenoa, who shared images to social media late on Sunday of a beach scene complete with a sign reading “Marry Me” and heart-shaped boxes of red roses.
“Best weekend ever,” she wrote alongside the images.
It comes after the Broncos opened their season with an underdog win over the Penrith Panthers in Sydney on Friday.
Haas, 23, and Mohenoa share a daughter, Lalita, 1.
“Hold a special place in my heart,” Haas wrote of the engagement.
“My ride or die.”
It follows a turbulent start to the year for the star prop, who recently admitted it had been “really tough” not being able to communicate with his mother, who was incarcerated over her involvement in a horrific car crash in December, which killed three people.
Mohenoa has been by his side for the past few years, with the pair falling pregnant within months of Haas losing his brother, Chace, in 2020.
