Party politics: Premier spotted at glam event by Keri Craig-Lee and Trevor Lee in Ascot

Annastacia Palaszczuk is fast becoming known as the party premier, being regularly spotted at A-list events including some held by richlisters with lifelong links to the Liberal National Party. SEE THE PICTURES

Annastacia Palaszczuk is giving “political party” a new meaning, becoming a regular at exclusive A-lister soirees including those held by richlisters with historically strong ties to the Liberal National Party.

On Friday night, Ms Palaszczuk, flanked by her surgeon boyfriend Reza Adib, attended a glamorous soiree at the multimillion-dollar Ascot mansion of Keri Craig-Lee and her beef baron husband Trevor Lee.

The occasion was a private showing of a DVD Ms Craig-Lee has created to showcase her impressive career in the fashion industry.

The Labor Premier happily posed for photographs alongside the hosts as well as the likes of recruitment queen Sarina Russo and Jano Kotzas, wife of QPAC boss John Kotzas.

Grace Grace, Minister for Education, Industrial Relations and Racing, who is herself becoming a fixture at society parties, was also in attendance.

Friday’s event follows another lavish function at the Craig-Lee home where Mr Lee, a longtime LNP donor and son of a Bjelke-Petersen cabinet minister, threw a Labor fundraiser on May 12.

Attended by Anthony Albanese and Ms Palaszczuk, the shindig was rumoured to have cost $10,000 a head, with guests urged to dig deep for Labor.

The apparent switching of political allegiances follows Mr Lee’s successful lobbying of the State Government last year to intervene in a bitter development dispute.

Mr Lee, a major beef supplier to Coles through his Australian Country Choice company, donated $70,000 to the LNP’s failed state election campaign in 2020.

Ms Palaszczuk and Dr Adib also recentlydazzled on the red carpet for the premiere of Baz Luhrmann’s biopic Elvis on the Gold Coast.
