Entertainment and the arts have been among the biggest casualties of the global coronavirus pandemic, with concerts, festivals and stage productions postponed or cancelled worldwide.
Opera Queensland’s production of Lorelei was just one of the Brisbane productions left in limbo by QPAC’s six-week closure, but quick-thinking cast and crew found a way to give ticketholders a little something so it wasn’t a total loss.

“While we cannot gather tonight, we can offer a moment from the opera,” Opera Queensland CEO Patrick Nolan wrote in an email to ticketholders on what was to be the eve of the premiere last week.
“In the production, our three magnificent Sirens - Ali McGregor, Antoinette Halloran and Dimity Shepherd - are not defeated by isolation.
“On the contrary, their brilliance finds all manner of ways to connect and rise above the challenges such confines may present.”
