Nova 106.9 presenter David ‘Luttsy’ Lutteral reveals his lovers’ tiff with swimmer girlfriend Emily Seebohm

It was the romantic sunset dinner Nova’s David ‘Luttsy’ Lutteral thought would be the perfect date night for him and swimmer girlfriend Emily Seebohm – but he ended up getting the ultimate silent treatment. Here’s why.

THEY might be in the honeymoon phase of their relationship, but breakfast radio presenter David ‘Luttsy’ Lutteral has revealed the lovers’ tiff he and swimmer Emily Seebohm had during their romantic Fiji getaway.

The loved-up couple escaped to Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay over the New Year and Lutteral said they were headed to catch the sunset at the adults-only pool and restaurant, two kilometres from their bure accommodation, when they had a “blow up”.

“We started walking. We are time poor. I thought if we walk quickly we will try and commandeer a buggy to get there on time for the sunset, get the photos,” he told his co-hosts on Nova 106.9 breakfast show Ash, Kip, Luttsy & Susie on Wednesday morning,

“I’m trying to make it the perfect evening.”

When the couple neared reception, halfway to their destination with about six minutes until sunset, Lutteral spotted a buggy coming in the opposite direction and hailed the driver down, ignoring Seebohm’s pleas to continue to reception and pick up a buggy there – arguing that this particular buggy was travelling in the wrong direction.

“I thought ‘No this is my time to step up, me being the man, getting everything right’,” Lutteral continued.

“We get in he takes us back, back past our bure, as far back as we possibly can.”

“Now we have two minutes and we are about 2km from there and it (the road) is too narrow so he’s backing back.”

“We get to the restaurant and the sunset is gone, and Em – rightly so I’ve made a mistake – she didn’t talk to me for a little bit. When that happens I go ‘What this isn’t fair, I didn’t know he was going to do that, it’s not my fault’.”

“It destroyed an hour of that night”.

He also joked about the downside of dating an Olympic swimmer, who was eager to walk everywhere and went for daily runs and swims to keep fit.

“She swam out to the drop-off and left me for dead,” he quipped. “Wasn’t there to protect me”.

The couple have clearly put their quarrel behind them, enjoying date nights to Cirque Du Soleil and Elton John since returning from Fiji earlier this month.
