After butting heads with Locky Gilbert on Survivor: All Stars, Gold Coaster Mat Rogers didn’t hold back when asked about his rival’s quest for love as the new Bachelor.

Bachelor and Survivor stars reveal their horror dating stories

MAT Rogers has questioned his Survivor: All Stars rival Locky Gilbert’s reasons for becoming The Bachelor.

After it was revealed this morning that the Perth adventurer would front the Channel 10 dating show this year, Rogers was asked on the Gold Coast’s hit 90.9 breakfast show if Gilbert’s romantic intentions were genuine.

“There’s probably a lot of reasons (for going on the show), and they’re all dollars,” the Gold Coast former rugby league player told Lise, Sarah, Dan & Ben.

Rogers, who was voted out of Survivor: All Stars by Gilbert’s alliance, added that the 27-year-old’s “worst habit” was “trying to take too much control”.

“He certainly likes to be in control, and there’s no other guy he has to battle it out with in the Bachelor, but there’s going to be plenty of girls, it’s going to be interesting to see how he handles it,” Rogers continued.

Following the Gold Coast local’s elimination in late February, he told Confidential he held no grudges leaving the game.

“It’s like playing a football team, I’ve had great friends that I’ve played with and I’ve got guys that I play with.”

“You’re not going to click and gel with everyone.”
