Lizzo isn‘t the first high profile artist to snub Brisbane during their Aussie tour, with Harry Styles opting to perform on the Gold Coast over Brisbane during his nationwide tour in late February.

Styles was originally scheduled to perform at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre in late 2020, having performed at the venue during his last visit in 2018, before ongoing Covid restrictions led to the tour’s cancellation.

When Styles locked in new Australian dates, with his rising popularity upgrading him to a stadium tour, Major Events Gold Coast – an arm of the City of the Gold Coast – launched a bid with promoter Live Nation to lure Styles to the Gold Coast.

Joining Lizzo on all her tour stops will be the talented Australian singer Tkay Maidza, who was also a supporting act for Dua Lipa on her Australian tour in 2022.

The talented artist‘s 2022 album Special has been well-received and has spawned a string of hit singles, including About Damn Time, which earned Lizzo the coveted Grammy for Record of the Year.

Another chart-topping single from the album, 2 Be Loved (Am I Ready), has become a staple on Sydney’s WorldPride playlist.
