Imagine if Judge Judy and Jerry Springer had sex, suggests Kyle Sandilands, trying to describe his courtroom TV reality show.
“This would be the baby that would come out,” he said from the set as filming wrapped up on the first official season of Network Ten’s Trial By Kyle on Saturday.
Audiences are in for a wild ride as Sandilands plays mediator in a series of disputes and disagreements alongside former Bachelor contestant and lawyer Anna Heinrich.

“It is a really weird show,” Sandilands said.
“You can expect smashing of things, security intervening, yelling, screaming, racial cases, defamatory cases, theft, mother and daughter fights, major companies being taken to court, someone doing a slut drop in front of the judge’s chair — and as usual, Anna and I disagree on everything.”
Trial By Kyle was one of the eight shows aired as part of Ten’s Pilot Week experiment in August and one of three to be commissioned after luring an average 519,000 viewers.
Even Sandilands was surprised.
He said: “Considering I didn’t want to do this shit in the first place, it’s turned out to be something I don’t mind doing. It’s much more enjoyable than I thought.
“Maybe if I actually had an education I could have done this as a real job.”
Not that the brutally honest 47-year-old would ever give up his radio gig.
He said: “That radio gig is the easiest thing in the world. I like doing both. At first I was not super keen to do this show, but being the last day of filming, I feel kind of disappointed it is over.”
