Kathryn Eisman’s sock range being worn by A-list celebrities

Former E! News fashion and ­lifestyle editor and Aussie expat Kathryn Eisman has become a favourite designer of many Hollywood celebrities including the Kardashians, Rihanna and Jude Law. But you couldn’t guess what she creates.

Former E! News fashion and ­lifestyle editor and Aussie expat Kathryn Eismanis knocking the socks off the celebrity fashion world one pair of fancy footwear at a time.

The Los Angeles-based TV journalist, who has made a career out of interviewing some of the biggest ­celebrities in the biz, has found a new career as a sock designer — with stars likeKendall Jenner, Kourtney Kardashian, Alison Brie, Joan Smallsand Rihanna ­popping on a pair of her glamorous new range.

Eisman’s High Heel Jungle label, which is designed specifically to be worn with heels, open toe sandals and pumps, is already walking it’s way across Hollywood just eight months after she launched the ­business in LA.

“When I say I create socks to be worn with heels, all sorts of horrific images come to mind for people and then they see the collection and its something truly whimsical and beautiful and ­allows you to express your personality without adding any bulk to your leg,” the reporter and author told Confidential.

The range, which includes sheer socks embellished with pearls, crystals and motifs, came to fruition after Eisman’s genius marketing strategy was executed almost by accident while on the job as an entertainment reporter.

“I was creating the socks for ­myself and was wearing them to ­celebrity movie junkets and red carpets and it became an occupational hazard because I didn’t want to waste any of my interview time talking about the socks,” she said.

“But eight out of 10 people from Zoe Kravitz to Deborah Messing to Keira Knightley, even Jude Law, would stop me and say ‘where did you get those socks, I’m obsessed with them’ and then I said ‘I actually make them.

She has been carrying socks with her as so many people ask where they can buy them from.

“That was about as face-to-face as it could get in terms of seeing ­people’s excitement and reaction to it and then a lot of celebrity stylists contacted me and asked to pull them as a look for the Jenner girls or a shoot with Rihanna, and so I was like ‘sure’. I was looking at the ­people I was sending them too saying ‘how is this even happening’.”

Eisman knew she was onto a winner and within months was ready to sock and roll with a full-scale business which she juggles with being mum to Capri, five and Monet, eight months. “People would stop me and say ‘can I buy the socks that you are wearing from you, off your feet right now?’,” she said.

“So I started bringing pairs of whatever I was wearing with me in my bag so people could buy a fresh pair, which was much more hygienic.”
