Australian Police Officer Charged with Murder Over Missing Sydney Couple

Network 10’s Brisbane team has paid tribute to its former colleague and alleged murder victim Jesse Baird in a heartfelt social media post.

Baird, 26, and his partner Luke Davies, 29, disappeared from a Sydney apartment late last week, with Baird’s ex-boyfriend and NSW police officer Beau Lamarre-Condon charged with their murder.

In a post on Facebook, the Ten Brisbane team wrote: “Jesse was so much more than a colleague. He was a cherished friend who brightened every day with his positivity, cheeky winks and brilliant smile.”

Baird began his career with Ten in Brisbane in 2018 and played prominent roles on several programs, including Totally Wild and Gamify.

More recently he was a Sydney-based red carpet reporter on Studio 10.

“Through his roving reporter role he travelled the country and met hundreds of people from all walks of life,” the post said.

“They were all without a doubt left a little brighter having been touched by his presence.”

Baird’s Totally Wild co-worker “Ranger Stacey” Thomson made her own tribute at the weekend, saying: “He was just a young guy, just 19 when I met him, I feel like I took him under my wing a bit.

“I had such a soft spot for him, he was so kind and gentle.”
