Growing up, I didn’t see people like me’: Timomatic applauds growing diversity in entertainment

Singer Tim Omaji (Timomatic) has applauded the growing wave of diversity in Aussie entertainment. The former Australia’s Got Talent judge, who is of Nigerian descent, told Confidential that he feels honoured to be a part of that change.

Singer Tim Omaji (Timomatic) has applauded the growing wave of diversity in Aussie entertainment.

The former Australia’s Got Talent judge, who is of Nigerian descent, told Confidential that he feels honoured to be a part of that change.

“Growing up, I didn’t see people like me doing things like this, it wasn’t a thing,” he said alongside celebrity stylist Marvin Osifo at Jimmy Choo’s fragrance launch.

“The fact that it Happened for me and other people is beautiful.”

The Can You Feel It singer previously starred on So You Think you Can Dance and Dance Boss and said reality TV was never in his plan.

“I didn’t know that life would turn out like that but I’m happy that I’m always around talent, whether I’m on stage or being in a position to help others – I think it’s a special thing,” he said.

The APRA award-winning artist is currently working on new afrobeats music and has also set his sights on the film industry.

“The last few years, I’ve been focusing on acting more so through musical theatre,” he said.

“I’m continuously putting out music but obviously focusing on acting, in the last few years I’ve done three musical theatre shows and in 2020, I’d really like to get more into the film and TV industry.”
