The 36-year-old former footballer has revealed a shiny new look thanks to the work of one of Sydney’s top rhinoplasty surgeons and says the procedure “changed my life”.
“The whole surgery process was amazing,” Anasta told Confidential.
“I’ve needed rhinoplasty for over 10 years. I broke my nose four or five times during my footy career and I haven’t been able to breathe through it properly since. My sleeping has now improved, I can train better and most importantly, I don’t get nasally during my commentary with Fox Sports.”
The 2004 Bulldogs premiership player works as a leading commentator for Fox Sports.
He retired from the game in 2014, having enjoyed a stellar career starting with the Bulldogs before moving to the Sydney Roosters and finishing with Wests Tigers.
Sydney surgeon Will Mooney described Anasta’s rhinoplasty procedure as one of “the most difficult” he’s done.
“He has cosmetic and primarily functional problems,” Dr Mooney said of the father of two. “His nose doesn’t look great and more importantly it doesn’t work very well either.
“This has been affecting his quality of life, the way he can sleep, the way he can train and even the sound of his voice because now he is a commentator on TV.”
Cooper Cronk, who now plays for the Roosters, has previously revealed he, too, would go under the knife to have a nose job to alleviate breathing difficulties.
