Kayla, who was working in real estate when she met the now Brisbane Broncos captain in 2010, has just finished designing and furnishing the property, called “the boheme beach bode”, in north Broadbeach.

Having also designed her and Darius’s dream Hendra home last off season, she revealed she and a friend had recently applied for the 2019 season The Block.

“The chances are pretty slim considering (there are) 70,000 applications, but hey, you never know,” Kayla said of the Channel 9 renovation show.

The investment apartment, rented out from $260 per night during off season, is already booked out to the end of January with booking requests through to July.

Kayla has applied for the 2019 season of The Block.

“We’ve been looking for an investment property that could also cater as our holiday home to have the luxury of being able to escape the hustle of Brisbane,” she said.

“We were looking up and down the coast for over a year. We thought the Gold Coast would be better suited as our families are down there.”

“We decided to let it out to holiday-goers purely from an investment perspective – to us there is no point in keeping it vacant when we are unable to stay, guests may as well enjoy the apartment as much as we do.”
