Celebrities flock to see Muriel back on stage

The stars came out to celebrate the return of award-winning musical Muriel’s Wedding to Sydney last night. SEE ALL THE PICTURES HERE.

This show is anything but terrible and the proof is in the red carpet. Award-winning musical Muriel’s Wedding is back in Sydney at the Sydney Lyric Theatre after a hugely successful sold-out season in Melbourne.

Opening night saw a star-studded red carpet, including Casey Donovan, Danielle Spencer, Justine Clarke, Melissa Doyle, Kerri-Anne Kennerley and Ada Nicodemou, who all turned up
to celebrate the classic Aussie film to stage rendition.

This is the second time the show has selected Sydney as its playground, originally premiering in 2017 to sold-out audiences and winning five Helpmann Awards.

Last night’s bright, brash opening featured a new cast who were warmly welcomed by the audience, with Natalie Abbott as Muriel, Stefanie Jones as Rhonda, David James as Bill, and Pippa Grandison as Betty. It is produced by Global Creatures.

The Sydney season will finish its 10-week season on September 8 before packing up and heading to Brisbane.
