Cassandra Thorburn’s lands TV guest role with Studio 10

Channel 10 is continuing to milk Karl Stefanovic’s breakup.
After casting Stefanovic’s ex-wife as a contestant on Dancing With The Stars, Cassandra Thorburn has been added to Studio 10’s list of regular guest panellists.
Mentioning the role after being booted off Dancing With The Stars on Monday night, a Network 10 spokesperson has now confirmed the news with Confidential.
“Cass is a friend of Studio 10 and will continue to appear as a regular guest on the show.”
It’s an interesting move for the 47-year-old who has been widely criticised for capitalising on her ex’s profile.
While Thorburn said her stint on Dancing With The Stars would be a “fresh start,” she is now joining the line-up of Australian breakfast TV personalities — a space which used to be dominated by Stefanovic.
News of Thorburn’s new gig comes just days after her son, Jackson Stefanovic, spoke to Woman’s Day, hinting there was tension between he and his father and praising his mother.
“What’s done is done,” he told the magazine in regards to his parent’s breakup.
“Despite what happened, he’s still my dad. I’ll leave it there for now — who knows what happens next.”
“My mother is the most extraordinary person, and what she has weathered in these past few years, no one deserves the backlash,” Jackson said.
Thorburn then took to Instagram to applaud her son writing: “How blessed am I to be loved and respected by this incredible young man.”
No stranger to the media, Thorburn began her career at a community radio station at age 13, before working at ABC Rockhampton where she met Stefanovic as a rookie journalist.
After devoting years to raising her three children, earlier this year Thorburn told this column that she had “always planned on going back to work.”
