Australian acting royalty Bryan Brown and Rachel Ward are expecting to become grandparents for the first time by the end of the week. Their daughter is expecting her first child with a former My Kitchen Rules star.

Bryan Brown and Rachel Ward are expecting to become grandparents for the first time by the end of the week.

The Australian acting royalty couple’s daughter Matilda Brown is due to give birth to a baby boy on Friday.

It’ll be the first child for Brown and the second for celebrity chef partner Scott Gooding, who last week opened his new restaurant, The Good Place, at Westfield Miranda.

“It is their first grandchild,” Gooding said.

“I think they are more apprehensive than I am.”

Brown and Ward have two other children together — Rose and Joseph.

Matilda is also an actor and director while Gooding was a contestant on My Kitchen Rules and has a 10-year-old son from a previous relationship.

“I am a little bit nervous because there has been so much time between my first and this one, I kind of worry that I’ve forgotten it all,” he said.

“But I have no doubt that once he is here it will all fall into place and it will be second nature. I am very excited. I want to meet him and see his little face.”

He continued: “I also want to see Til (Matilda) as a mum. I am very much looking forward to that.”

Gooding, 43, is relieved to have opened The Good Place eatery before the birth, allowing him time now to focus on his partner and the couple’s wedding in November on her parents farm.

“It has been a very busy time but the restaurant is open and I feel like the hardest part was getting it to that point,” he said.

“Now, not that I can sit back and put my feet up but I can focus on the birth for the next couple of months. I am wearing a few hats at the moment.”
