Brisbane floods: Dame Judi Dench wishes Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University students well

A Special Message from Dame Judi Dench

Hollywood star Dame Judi Dench has sent her best wishes to Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University students following the devastation of South East Queensland’s floods.

The conservatorium is located in Brisbane’s South Bank and remains closed while flood damage is assessed.

Dame Judi, who is an international endorser of the conservatorium’s Bachelor of Acting, said she wished all students good luck and told them to just “keep going”.

“You must have had a wretched couple of years, with Covid, with the flooding, with everything you’ve had to deal with,” she said.

“I can only say keep going, because we long to hear about you all in the future.

“So look forward to it, and I send you my very, very best wishes.”

As one of Australia’s leading music and performing arts schools, the Queensland Conservatorium offers a wide range of specialist degrees, including classical music, jazz, opera, popular music as well as musical theatre, acting, music technology and music education.

Dame Judi’s acting career spans six decades of stage and screen, with some of her most prominent roles featuring in the James Bond franchise and Shakespeare in Love.
