The Brisbane Broncos have rolled out the red carpet for the launch of their 2023 NRL season.
Coach Kevin Walters, who is believed to have this week locked in his position at Red Hill until the end of 2025, and captain Adam Reynolds led the team as they arrived for the Broncos’ season launch on Thursday, toasting to their mission to end the hallmark Brisbane club’s 17-year premiership drought.
Held at picturesque riverside venue Water’s Edge in Hamilton, the cocktail event saw players and their partners come together to celebrate the year ahead in style.
It came a week before the Broncos’ season opener against back-to-back reigning premiers the Penrith Panthers in Sydney on March 3.
Skipper Reynolds, who has been under an injury cloud this pre-season, said the team had worked hard during the off season and were looking forward to their first clash.
“I’m feeling really good and we are all feeling really fresh,” he said.
Kurt Capewell said the combinations on the field were starting to spark and he was keen for the first game to see how they gelled.
“We’ve had a long and hard pre-season and from my experience that usually sets you up for a good year,” he said.
“We are another year wiser and the combinations are stronger.”
