Life after Steve: How the Irwin family managed to survive and thrive
In a video live streamed by the Channel 7 News helicopter, a number of people holding large white umbrellas gathered outside the side of a car, which is thought to contain the young Australia Zoo heiress.
A number of people gathered around the premises are donned in khaki green, while flowers and decorations can be seen in the background.
A few zoo animals, including several rhinoceros have also been spotted at the ceremony.
The bride has not yet made an appearance.
There's been no mention of the last minute change to Bindi's wedding to fiance Chandler Powell on either of the couple's Instagram accounts.
Bindi's most recent post, a picture of her with her late father Steve Irwin, is captioned "Thank you for being my guiding light. You're always with me," and was posted 17 hours ago.
Irwin and Powell met in 2013 when Powell, a then pro wakeboarder, visited the Zoo with his family.
The pair have been officially dating since July of 2015.
In a recent interview with The Sunday Mail's U on Sunday, Terri Irwin said Bindi's younger brother Robert would walk her down the aisle in place of Steve, who was killed in 2006 when by a stingray's barb struck him in the chest while filming in Queensland's Batt Reef.
“Bindi has asked Robert to walk her down,” Terri said, “which I think is so right, I know Steve would feel the same way too.”
The family had planned to remember Steve, famously known worldwide as "The Crocodile Hunter," by lighting a candle at the couple's wedding reception.
"We want to acknowledge Steve by all of us lighting this candle for him, but you know, I guess in some ways it’s not necessary because Steve will be there anyway,’’ Terri said.“I believe the people we love always are."
Terri said she'd light the candle along with Robert, Bindi and Chandler, and Steve's best friend and zoo director Wes Mannion.
