Bachelor Matt Agnew has chosen fellow science nerd Chelsie McLeod as his forever partner, and the pair say they are thrilled the finale has now screened so they can start a normal life together. TELL US WHAT YOU THINK OF HIS CHOICE.

Bachelor nerds Matt Agnew and Chelsie McLeod waited until after the cameras stopped rolling before they physically sealed the deal.

Choosing McLeod over series villain Abbie Chatfield as his forever partner in Thursday night’s series finale, the loved-up couple are looking forward to finally being able to live a normal life without having to keep secrets.

“We have literally had zero normality,” McLeod told Confidential. Agnew added: “Being able to actually do normal things like go for brunch together, go for a run or a hike, hang out with mates and talk openly about each other without code names … it is all the normal things I am looking forward to.”

Astrophysicist Agnew chose chemical engineer McLeod over 27 other contestants and the pair describe themselves as nerds with pride.

“I am totally happy being a nerd,” she said, Agnew chiming in: “I am loud and proud. It is no secret. I don’t think it is a secret … I carry on like a pork chop about science a lot.”

Runner-up Abbie Chatfield was the series villain.

Astrophysicist Agnew is a self-confessed science nerd.

Agnew notably kissed many of the female admirers vying for his attention on the show and there have been rumours he and whoever he chose had already broken up.

Both dispute that, and McLeod said she wasn’t overly bothered by Agnew’s other Bachelor romances.

“There wasn’t much that I didn’t expect,” she said. “It wasn’t a normal situation and I wasn’t completely happy watching but it was fine.

“It was a bit uncomfortable (watching Agnew kissing other women) but I knew what I was getting myself into and the other girls told me everything so it wasn’t unexpected.”

The pair have denied rumours that they have already broken up.

To that Agnew responded: “I am now a one-woman man and I couldn’t be happier about that.”

Marriage and kids are on the cards over the next couple of years.

And as for taking the relationship to the next level of intimacy, the pair waited until after the show stopped filming.

“There was no funny business while filming or in the mansion,” Agnew said.

“You are with people the whole time, you are always mic’d up, you are always in front of the cameras, kissing is as much as you see and as much that happened.

“We very much waited until we had our private moment together.”
