An aspiring Australian actor, who was among the first at the scene when music artist Nipsey Hussle was shot dead in Los Angeles this week, claims the American rapper was killed over money.
Stefani Samac, 23, was by chance at the scene within minutes of the shooting at the weekend when out on a drive with her husband, also a rapper who she claims was friends with Hussle.
“The shooter is one of his friends who was asking him for some money,” Samac said.
“Apparently he turned around and told him he didn’t have money on him, that he couldn’t give him the money, and then he was shot.”
A tweet Samac shared from the site was picked up by news sites across the US and shared more than 4500 times.
Hussle, 33, whose real name was Ermias Asghedom, was one of three men shot on Sunday outside the rapper’s Marathon Clothing store.
He was pronounced dead after being taken to hospital with police yet to identify any suspects.
“They are saying it is gang related,” Samac said. “It has to stop.”
Hussle’s debut album, Victory Lap, was nominated for Best Rap Album at the Grammy Awards this year.
Artists including Rihanna, Drake, 50 Cent and Pharrell Williams, as well as basketballers LeBron James and Stephen Curry, were among those to pay tribute to Hussle.
“This doesn’t make any sense! My spirit is shaken by this!” Rihanna wrote on Twitter.
Samac meanwhile is the daughter of convicted drug smuggler Tomislav Samac. She shot a pilot for an Aussie Mob Wives style reality show in 2017.
She moved to Los Angeles a few months ago, where she lives with American husband Eric Cunningham, who goes by the rap name of iShowOff.
