Country star Amber Lawrence doesn’t sugar-coat it when it comes to juggling life on the road with young son, Ike.
“It is really hard,” she said.
“As an artist, you time everything with sound check, getting ready and setting up. Then you think your baby should understand that you need to put your make-up on but he won’t sit still on the motel room floor while you do that.
“All of that stuff that used to be kind of easy, you could do at your own pace, you’re lucky if you get it done. It is a juggling act you have no control over.”
Lawrence is one of our most in-demand touring artists and her new album, Spark, just hit number one on the ARIA Chart.

With four Golden Guitars to her name and a busy career on radio and touring, life is busy.
She is thankful to have the support of husband Martin Newman and her mother Lorraine.
“I find it hard but I am really good at being able to let things go now with an 11-month-old now than I was a year ago,” she said.
“I laugh it off and realise that is me doing the absolute best I can. I put Ike as number one but when you have a career that still hasn’t slowed down, you have to let the little things fall by the wayside.”
