Fake it to make it: Are AI influencers taking over?

They’re the shining stars of social media dedicating their lives to the picture-perfect image and making it look easy.

From fitness influencers and models to make-up artists and chefs, a wide range of Queensland-based influencers have stacked up a following of more than one million people.

Of the lot, the state’s most notable influencer based on followers is Sarah Magusara, a TikTok influencer who shares dancing and comedy videos.

Tammy Hembrow, a Gold Coast native has made her mark creating content in the fitness and wellness space.

Hembrow, who is engaged to and expecting a baby with Queensland former iron man Matt Poole, has 14.2 million Instagram followers.

The 27-year-old has successfully leveraged several businesses from her following, including Saski Collection and her TammyFit app.

Hembrow shares two children with her ex partner Reece Hawkins, who has more than 700,000 followers himself.

Her sisters Emilee and Amy Hembrow have also grown a large social media following, with Emilee having 1.1 million followers while Amy has 277,000.

Other fitness and wellness influencers with huge social media followings include Emily Skye, Rachel Dillon, Ashy Bines and Chloe Szepanowski.

TikTok has also seen influencers stack up millions of followers with Birkdale’s Rhylee Passfield using makeup to transform herself into characters, including Dobby the Elf, Wonder Woman and Patrick Star.

She has attracted a following of 1.9 million people on TikTok.

Pullin conceived her daughter Minnie after undergoing IVF using Chumpy’s sperm which was retrieved posthumously.
