Cirque du Soleil has announced a plethora of additional shows for its Crystal Australian arena tour starting in July, following overwhelming popular demand.

Fans who missed out on the first round of tickets in November will now have another opportunity to see the circus company perform live after TEG Live announced 23 new shows nationwide – including six new Brisbane shows.

The jaw-dropping, gravity-defying circus production is the company’s very first acrobatic experience on ice.

It was already scheduled to take place over three nights in Brisbane from July 21 to 23.

But after an overwhelming demand for tickets, the company has now added six shows at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre from July 27 to 30, before moving on to Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.

Cirque du Soleil’s visit will be its first since the pandemic disrupted the run of its previous production, Kurios: Cabinet of Curiosities, in 2019 and 2020.

“It’s no secret that Australians love Cirque Du Soleil,” TEG chief executive Geoff Jones said.

“These strong sellout shows really reinforce that.

“As a country, we can’t get enough.”

After mesmerising more than 1.8 million onlookers in 115 cities worldwide, Crystal artistic director Robert Tannion said he could not wait to bring the subzero spectacle Down Under.

“We’re thrilled to bring Crystal to Australia for the very first time,” he said.

“The show is all about finding the magic in the everyday and what could be more magical than seeing the beauty of ice-skating blend seamlessly with adrenalin-inducing acrobatic and aerial feats that audiences know and love from Cirque du Soleil.”

Crystal is Cirque du Soleil’s 42nd creation.

Tickets for Cirque du Soleil’s latest shows are on sale now via Ticketek.
