Weary influencer Becky Lamb details storm ‘nightmare’

The Gold Coast home owned by motor racing ace Fabian Coulthard and his influencer wife, Becky Lamb, has been condemned.

Gold Coast to receive $2.5 million tourism boost

The influencer wife of motor racing ace Fabian Coulthard has told of her ongoing “nightmare” after their luxurious Gold Coast home was “horrendously smashed” by the Christmas night storm and has now been “condemned” by the insurer.

A weary-looking Becky Lamb took to Instagram this week to tell her 48,500 followers of her mental struggles almost four weeks after what has been labelled a “tornado” cut a destructive swathe through the Glitter Strip, Scenic Rim and Logan.

The storm smashed the $3m “forever” home at Wongawallan the couple bought only five months ago, with Ms Lamb posting pics and video of the devastation including water pouring through holes in the ceiling.

“Our roof tiles turned into weapons, flying 200 km/h … we’re lucky to be alive,” she posted immediately following the storm.

“Our trampoline became a kite, smashing our front porch and poles before decapitating our trees, all with us metres away collecting the rain and debris falling from the roof in any bucket we could find.”

In an update this week, Ms Lamb - a mother of twins born to her and 13-time Supercars race winner Coulthard in 2017 - shared video and photos of the massive clean-up as she told followers she was “not coping super-well”.

“I’d like this nightmare to end please,” she posted with a crying emoji.

“Last night, I googled how the body deals with trauma and I’m almost ticking every box. “Physically the stress and anguish is taking its toll but mentally the games are really taxing. I struggle to sleep (and stay asleep!), I have nightmares and I’m starting to make poor decisions and become incapable of eating much. And if you know me at all, I’m not a starve-myself kinda girly, add the cheese, please!”

Ms Lamb said while the ordeal was “overwhelming in every aspect”, the community had rallied around them

“People are incredible!” she wrote.

“The community we have in our street, in our lives, in our arms and in our hands are remarkable. “You have helped us in so many ways. How can we ever say thank you?

“The little care packages, the texts, DM’s, calls, deliveries, babysitting, esky’s (sic) of ice, gift vouchers for kids toys, accommodation, pet rescue, cleaning, bills, check ins, cuddles, thoughts, love and genuine care have been so generous. You have showed up in every way. It is astounding and very, very kind.

“I can’t explain what it’s like to lose everything, nor can I express enough gratitude to you, but I want you to know how deeply we’ve been touched and how greatly we appreciate every big and little token of love.

“Yes we are lucky. Insurance have condemned our house and we start again, but it still hurts. “There’s a smile on my face but my heart is still aching. I’ll get there. I’m ok. Just thanks for everything, it means so much.”
