The royal family has taken to social media to celebrate their first UK Mother’s Day without The Queen.

The Prince and Princess of Wales shared adorable new family photos of Princess Catherine having fun outdoors with Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis to mark the March 19 occasion.

Posting on their social media accounts, the royal couple shared two images of Catherine with their children on the Sandringham estate in Norfolk last year.

The first portrait shows the Princess of Wales and her three children sitting in a tree.

“Happy Mother’s Day from our family to yours” said the post, and included two red heart emojis. ️

Within a few hours the post had amassed 700,000 likes and countless comments.

Crown Princess Mary’s fan page account posted: “Happy Mother’s Day to you Catherine️. It is so clear to see through the pictures how wonderful and doting mum you are … have an amazing day”.

The Princess of Wales dressed casually for sunny weather in a white blouse, jeans and white sneakers and wore her hair long in beach waves.

George and Louis wore blue shorts and short-sleeved shirts, while Charlotte wore a denim jump suit with a red tassel trim.

The second photo shows Catherine cradling her youngest son, Prince Louis, in her arms as he holds onto his mum’s hands and she smiles down at him.

The newly released photos were taken by Matt Porteous.

The environmental photographer previously snapped their 2021 Christmas card photo as well as Prince George’s third birthday portraits.

King Charles marked his first Mother’s Day without his mum, sharing a heartfelt childhood photo with his “beloved Mama” via a post on their official Twitter account.

The monarch, 74, and Queen Consort Camilla, 75, first and foremost paid tribute to others who have lost parents.

Charles and Camilla captioned the post: “To all mothers everywhere, and to those who may be missing their mums today, we are thinking of you and wishing you a special Mother’s Day.”

The first photo showed King Charles as a toddler standing on his young mother Elizabeth II’s lap as they posed for a portrait.

In the same post, Queen Consort Camilla also shared a photo with her late mother Rosalind Shand, who died in 1994.
