MAYBE Michael Jackson’s pet chimpanzee should have been named Nibbles.
On an episode of the Desus & Mero, Rashida Jones revealed that the animal bit her when she was a child.
“I got attacked. By Bubbles. Bubbles. Michael Jackson …” the 40-year-old, whose father Quincy produced some of Jackson’s most famous work, told the hosts after she was asked if she’d ever been bitten by a monkey.
The actress-turned-writer/director showed off the scar on her hand that remains to this day, before describing what the well-dressed pet was wearing — overalls and a striped shirt.
“He also looked me dead in my eye. While he was biting me,” she said.
“I was trying to punish him because he threw something at me. And I, like, hit him on the head and said, ‘No!’ because I had seen Michael trying to punish him before. And he just grabbed my hand and looked me dead in the eye.”
It wasn’t a soft bite either according to the star who said it bled and bled.
Jackson bought Bubbles during the mid 80s and the chimpanzee would accompany him for much of the next two decades.
In 2003, having matured into an adult, the animal was sent to an animal trainer.
Bubbles currently lives in a sanctuary in Florida where he moved in 2005.
