Prince William has gushed about the birth of his first nephew but questions remain over the state of his relationship with Prince Harry.
William said he was looking forward to meeting Harry’s firstborn in the “next few days” but it remains unclear whether William will meet the baby before the rest of the world, with the baby due to be introduced to the spotlight tonight Australian-time.
When quizzed about the birth, Prince William said he was looking forward to seeing his nephew “in the next few days when things have quietened down”.
William is not the only member of the royal family to keep a quiet distance after the birth of Harry and Meghan Markle’s baby boy.
Harry’s father, Prince Charles, and Charles’ wife, the Duchess of Cornwall, are in Germany on a four-day tour.

When quiestion about his new nephew, William said: “I’m very pleased and glad to welcome my brother to the sleep deprivation society that is parenting”.
“I wish him all the best and hope over the next few days they will settle down and enjoy having a newborn in the family,” William added, while at a public appearnce with his wife Kate Middleton in Greenwich.
Meantime, Wills is not the only family member to speak out after the birth.
Meghan’s estranged half-sister Samantha Markle has offered her congratulations and urged the Duchess of Sussex to repair the rift in their family.
“I’m already an aunt and am lucky enough to have Thomas and Tyler as my nephews,” Samantha told the Daily Mail.
“What I think is incredible is that it’s a great moment historically and although the adults have a lot of water under the bridge, I would really like to see everyone reach out.
“We’ve extended the olive branch and now it is Meghan’s turn.”

Mum-of-three Kate, who wore a Breton stripe top and £150 ($281) button waist trousers by LK Bennett, added: “Louis and Charlotte just having had their birthdays — it’s such a great time of year to have a baby, spring’s in the air.
“We’re looking forward to meeting him and finding out what his name is going to be.”
It comes after Prince Harry, 34, had yesterday spoken of his happiness at becoming a dad after Meghan, 37, gave birth to their son at 5.26am on Monday.
And it is hoped the baby could help heal the reported rift in the Royal family.
Prince William and new dad Prince Harry are said to be barely talking to each other — with fears their divisions could “expand rapidly”.
A royal biographer claimed the rift between the pair may have stemmed from just one comment when Harry started dating former actress Meghan.
Speaking to Fox News, author Katie Nicholl said: “William was concerned about how quickly the relationship had moved and wanted to make sure that Harry was making the right decision.”
The couples had a sit-down at Easter to talk through the feud, with Kate said to be the one counselling the brothers on reconnecting.
