PRINCE Harry and Meghan Markle’s tour was all built around the Invictus Games, which has gone out with a bang at the closing ceremony.
The Duchess of Sussex gave a wonderful speech reflecting on her time in Australia, saying she was honoured to be by her husband’s side and to be welcomed into the “Invictus Family”.
“On a very personal note, I just wanted to thank all of you for welcoming me into the Invictus Family,” she said.
“I am truly so grateful to be a part of this with each and every one of you.”
It marks the final day of the week-long Games that were set up by Prince Harry for wounded and ill defence veterans, and the tail-end of the Duke and Duchess’ whirlwind tour of Australia, Fiji, Tonga and New Zealand.
The Games have involved 500 competitors from 18 nations.
