Prince George has given a garden designed by his mother for the Chelsea Flower Show his stamp of approval in an adorable video with his father Prince William.
The Duchess of Cambridge co-designed the Back to Nature Garden to “inspire children, families and communities to get outside”.
Photos posted to Instagram overnight show a relaxed Kate meeting school children at the garden for outdoor activities including making boats out of reeds and toasting marshmallows.
In the candid video - which has amassed more than one million views - Prince William asks Prince George what he would score the garden “out of ten”.
“Twenty,” replies Prince George while playing on a rope swing.
“That’s pretty good. I think Mummy’s done well,” says Prince William before taking a turn on the swing.
The Queen also made an appearance, dressed in a light yellow jacket with a hint of a floral dress underneath, and was shown around by her grandson and the Duchess of Cambridge.
Kate said she hoped the garden would show people the positive impact nature has on mental health and well being.
“There’s an amazing fact I learnt recently was that 90 per cent of our adult brains are developed before the age of five,” she said.
“And what a child experiences in those really early years directly affects how the brain develops.
“That’s why I think it’s so important that all of us whether we’re parents or carers of family members, really engage in quality time with children and babies from a really young age.”
The Duchess’ “Back to Nature”-themed garden was created alongside the Royal Horticultural Society and designers Andrée Davies, 55, and Adam White, 45, to highlight the benefits of playing outdoors.
