Queensland netball icon Laura Geitz has announced she is expecting a fourth child.
The former Queensland Firebirds and Australian Netball Captain took to Instagram Sunday evening to announce the news.
“4 has always been my lucky number” she wrote alongside a picture of herself and husband Mark holding hands with their three children.
In a second picture Geitz is seen cradling her baby bump.
Fellow netballers have taken to the comments section to congratulate Geitz on the news.
“Congrats G! Exciting times” wrote Kim Green, former captain of Sydney’s Giants.
Former Australian Diamond player Chelsea Pittman commented “Congratulations G team”.
Geitz was widely regarded as one of the country’s top netballers.
Before her retirement from the sport in 2018, she helped bring Australia to one gold and two silvers at Commonwealth Games, and two wins in the Netball World Championships.
She now lives in the outer Brisbane suburb of Brookfield, and is mother to two boys, Barney, 5, and Franky, 3, and daughter Billie Mae, 1.
While no stranger to juggling many balls, Geitz is likely to have her hands full with four little ones.
Speaking to the Courier Mail before the birth of her daughter Billie Mae, Geitz said it was always a dream to have a big family.
“I love the idea of having a big family, and that’s not to say it’s not challenging and busy and all the rest. But there’s nothing better than having little ones around,” she said.
“It was a dream of mine to have a house full of kids and watch them grow and be great friends.”
