IN A night which saw two women in near-identical gowns and a dress adorned with pistol embellishments, Aussie cricketer Ashton Agar's squeeze well and truly stole the show at the 2014 Allan Border Medal.
Her name is Madeleine Hay, and if she hasn't been on your radar before, she will be now.
Hay well and truly took out the fashion stakes at tonight's Allan Border medal, wearing a piece so on-trend that actress Natalie Dormer was seen rocking the look just two nights ago, at the 20th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Pairing a white, form-fitting gown with black, cage-like netting, Hay kept her hair natural, her accessories minimal, her make-up fresh - and she stole the show.
Meanwhile, Candice Falzon and Rebecca O'Donovan turned up in near-identical gowns, both characterised by some garish gold filigree with Falzon's sheer train being the most obvious difference.
Kyly Clarke's "co-designed" dress by Daniela Stephanie and Jessica Bratich-Johnson's emerald green number both looked like they belonged in the northern hemisphere rather than out on a summery Sydney night.
Lee Watson looked divine, but many on Twitter complained that she and husband Shane looked like they were heading out to dinner rather than to cricket's night of nights.
There were the typical tight, revealing dresses ala Danielle Willis and Anna Weatherlake, and Clint McKay's partner Kirsten Tuzee puzzled onlookers thanks to the embellishments on her dress which resembled pistols.
By comparison, we think Hay looked fresh, understated and classy. We hope to see a lot more of the pint-sized stunner, who is reportedly studying Law at the University of Western Australia, soon.
