Khloe Kardashian opens up about welcoming son with cheating ex Tristan Thompson

Khloe Kardashian has opened up about becoming a single mum-of-two, after a cheating scandal saw her break up with Tristan Thompson before their new son was born.

Khloe Kardashian has spoken for the first time about her new son with ex Tristan Thompson, who was born via surrogate earlier this month.

“Being able to shape little people into really incredible big people is an honour and a gift,” the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star, 38, said of daughter True, 4, and her baby boy in an Elle interview published on Tuesday.

“I know it’s cliche, but I love everything, even the hard parts [of parenting],” she said. “It’s super scary, but I take my job very seriously.

“We have to take those roles seriously, especially in today’s day and age, with how much accessibility children have and the information they’re exposed to so young.”

Kardashian and Thompson conceived their son via surrogate in November 2021 – one month before the reality star, 38, found out that the athlete, 31, cheated on her with Maralee Nichols and fathered a son named Theo, New York Post reports.

While Kardashian kept her expanding family under wraps, news broke on July 13 that she was expecting a son.

“Khloe is incredibly grateful to the extraordinary surrogate for such a beautiful blessing,” her rep told Page Six at the time. “We’d like to ask for kindness and privacy so that Khloe can focus on her family.”

An insider went on to note that the duo were not back together, explaining: “Khloe and Tristan already had the baby in the works when the scandal hit. By then, Khloe was just like, ‘I’m going to be doing it by myself.’”

Since Kardashian and Thompson began dating in 2016, their tumultuous relationship has been rocked by multiple cheating scandals.

After Thompson’s paternity scandal last year, Kardashian made it clear that the NBA player is “not the guy for” her.

“I did feel incredibly safe in the beginning, and I felt really good for a time,” she told Robin Roberts of their romance in an April interview.

“I still think he’s a great guy,” she clarified at the time. “And he’s a great dad.”

Although news broke in June that Kardashian was dating a private equity investor who sister Kim introduced her to, their relationship “fizzled out” by the time baby number two arrived earlier this month.
