Teary outbursts, rekindled romances and a lot of drama – welcome to the final season of Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
Kim Kardashian West released the trailer for the latest – and last – season of the E! series, after she and her famous family signed a multimillion-dollar streaming deal with Hulu.
“I wouldn’t leave you without some seriously ugly cry faces,” she wrote as she shared the clip.
Set to Harry Styles’ song Sign of the Times, the emotional new video shows the Kardashian-Jenners dealing with the decision to end their long-running show after 20 seasons, due to air in March.
“Did we make the right decision by walking away?,” momager Kris Jenner said to the camera.
“We didn’t think anyone would be into watching a show about our crazy family,” Kim told the KUWTK crew.
The new season trailer teases a string of Kardashian-grade drama. Kim and Kanye West’s marriage troubles were not mentioned in the trailer, though a source told Page Six that their impending divorce “will be featured on the show”.
It hints at a possible reunion between Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick though Kourtney is reportedly dating Travis Barker.
“They’re definitely made for each other,” says Kendall Jenner, to a shot of Kourtney and Scott sleeping on a couch together.
And Khloe Kardashian expressed her desire to have another baby.
“I just feel like it’s now time to have another kid,” Khloe tells her on-again-off-again boyfriend, NBA star Tristan Thompson.
The trailer also features a brief appearance of a slimmed down Rob Kardashian.
The Kardashians and Jenners signed a mega streaming deal with Disney months after announcing the end of E!’s Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
The famous family signed a multi-year, global content agreement with streaming platform Hulu – owned by Disney.
KUWTK documented every aspect of their lives from babies and bombshells to proposals, weddings and divorces, and notably, the aftermath of Kim’s Paris robbery in 2016. It has served as a TV equivalent of a press release, pushing the Kardashians and Jenners’ agendas (Kim, Khloe, Kourtney and Kris served as executive producers, playing a key role in the editing process).
With KUWTK due to end on E! in the coming months, Deadline reported that the family’s new Hulu projects would air towards the end of 2021. The deal involves Kim Kardashian West, Khloe Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, and Kendall and Kylie Jenner, as well as other members of the extended family.
“Excited to announce our new multi year partnership with Hulu and Star and what’s to come in 2021,” Kardashian “momager” Kris Jenner said in a statement.
In September, the Kardashians stunned fans when they announced they were ending KUWTK after 20 seasons and a string of spin-offs.
“It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” the family previously announced.
“After what will be 14 years, 20 seasons, hundreds of episodes and several spin-off shows, we’ve decided as a family to end this very special journey.”
The final season of Keeping Up With the Kardashians will premiere in March on Foxtel’s E!.
