A VERY revealing wardrobe choice on his show had social media abuzz. Now, Justin Theroux admits he was “mortified” with the gossip.

FANS of HBO series The Leftovers might remember one particular scene early on in the show that got many viewers talking.

Lead actor Justin Theroux, playing Chief of Police Kevin Garvey on the fantasy drama, went for a jog to clear his head. The wardrobe department must have taken an early mark that day, because Theroux’s lack of, uh, support in his jogging bottoms was all viewers could talk about.

Two years later, gifs and pictures of the scene in question still do the rounds on social media — most recently in the wake of the Brangelina split, used as evidence that Theroux’s wife Jennifer Aniston has clearly moved on to, ahem, bigger and better things.

In a new interview with Elle Magazine, the man himself admits that all this talk about his manhood has left him “mortified”, regardless of good intentions.

Asked if the scrutiny gave him an understanding of what it’s like to be a woman in Hollywood, Theroux answered:

“It kind of did. I don’t want to say objectified, but it was embarrassing. It’s like having someone yank your shorts down in public. It doesn’t feel great. Anyone who has an unflattering picture taken of them would probably say, “Join the club’.”

But the scene was hardly ‘unflattering’, the journalist protested.

“It has the appearance of a compliment, but it’s more mortifying than anything else.”

Meanwhile, Theroux recently spoke openly about the demise of Brangelina when asked about it in a new interview with Business Insider.

“As a child of divorce, all I can say is that’s terrible news for those children, and that’s all you can really say,” he told the outlet. “It’s boring to sort of comment on anything else. People are having a bad time. That’s horrible.”

He continued on about the media attention.

“There’s an endless appetite for trash, apparently — though everyone would say that they don’t have that appetite,” he said.

“But I think a lot of people do because people buy it.”
