Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have tied the knot.

Sources at TMZ first revealed the two star’s marriage and Page Six has obtained a marriage license from Clark County, Nevada filed Saturday, July 16, indicating that Benjamin Géza Affleck and Jennifer Lynn Lopez are indeed married.

Lopez confirmed the news herself in a newsletter sent out to fans on Monday morning, and revealed more details about the actual ceremony.

She comfirmed that the couple flew to Las Vegas on Saturday, and “stood in line for a license with four other couples”.

Lopez explained that they “barely made it to the little white wedding chapel by midnight”, which generously remained open past its closing time to allow them to “take pictures in a pink Cadillac convertible, evidently once used by the king himself.”

“So with the best witnesses you could ever imagine, a dress from an old movie and a jacket from Ben’s closet, we read our own vows in the little chapel and gave one another the rings we’ll wear for the rest of our lives,” she wrote.

“In the end, it was the best possible wedding we could have imagined. One we dreamed of long ago and one made real (in the eyes of the state, Las Vegas, a pink convertible and one another) at very, very long last.

“They were right when they said, ‘all you need is love’. We are so grateful to have that in abundance, a new wonderful family of five amazing children, and a life that we have never had more reason to look forward to.

“Stick around long enough and maybe you’ll find the best moment of your life in a drive through in Las Vegas at twelve thirty in the morning and at the tunnel of love drive through, with your kids and the one you’ll spend forever with. Love is a great thing, maybe the best of things - and worth waiting for.”

The singer also confirmed she’d taken her new husband’s surname, signing off the note with “Mrs. Jennifer Lynn Affleck”.

The couple described it as the “best moment” of their lives.

The Marry Me actor announced her engagement to the Good Will Hunting star in April in a short video via her fan newsletter, “On The JLo.”

“You’re perfect,” Lopez was heard saying in the clip as she stared adoringly at her green engagement ring.

“I always say the colour green is my lucky colour. Maybe you can remember a certain green dress,” she explained in a previous newsletter, referring to that famous Versace silk chiffon number she wore to the 2000 Grammys.

“I’ve realised there are many moments in my life where amazing things happened when I was wearing green,” she added.

The couple met in 2001 on the set of their movie Gigli while Lopez was still married to her second husband Cris Judd. Following their June 2002 separation, “Bennifer” was born, with Affleck making an appearance in Lopez’s unforgettable music video for Jenny from the Block.

One month after the video’s premiere, Affleck proposed to J.Lo, popping the question with a 6.1-carat pink diamond by Harry Winston.

Unfortunately, the couple eventually called off the wedding due to the media, they said in a joint statement at the time.

“Due to the excessive media attention surrounding our wedding, we have decided to postpone the date,” the couple said. “When we found ourselves seriously contemplating hiring three separate ‘decoy brides’ at three different locations, we realised that something was awry.”

They continued, “We began to feel that the spirit of what should have been the happiest day of our lives could be compromised. We felt what should have been a joyful and sacred day could be spoiled for us, our families, and our friends.”

By 2004, the pair officially called off the engagement and split. Lopez went on to marry Marc Anthony later that year, welcoming twins Emme and Max, born in 2008.

Meanwhile, Affleck tied the knot with Jennifer Garner in June 2005 and went on to welcome three kids with the actor: Violet, Seraphina, and Sam.

Both marriages ended in divorce.

The pair finally reunited in 2021 following Lopez’s split from baseball giant Alex Rodriguez and have been attached at the hip ever since.

“I feel so lucky and happy and proud to be with him,” Lopez told People in February. “It’s a beautiful love story that we got a second chance.”
