CARRIE Fisher’s daughter Billie Lourd is likely to inherit all of her actress mother’s fortune and a big slice of her grandmother’s, Debbie Reynolds.
The Sun reports devastated Todd Fisher — who lost both his mother and sister within the space of 24 hours — says Billie can “have whatever she wants” from the Star Wars star’s estate.
“We want her to have whatever she wants. Carrie wanted that,” Todd, 58, told New York Daily News.
His comments come after 24-year-old Billie was spotted leaving her Santa Monica home alongside rumoured boyfriend Taylor Lautner following her mother’s death.
Lautner was pictured helping his Scream Queens co-star carry bags on Thursday afternoon, not long before news of Debbie Reynolds’ death broke.
TRAGIC DEATH: Debbie Reynolds’ upsetting 911 call
In an interview hours before his mum died of a stroke, Todd said he was with her discussing Carrie’s funeral plans and what will happen to her only child, Billie.
“As far as mum and I are concerned, she gets whatever she wants,” he said of Billie. “There is a trust set up. But we’re all pretty well off. This was her mother.”
The young actress is also expected to get her mother’s share of the Reynolds’ estate which is being estimated at around $US60 million ($85 million).
Fisher leaves behind a sizeable fortune that has been estimated to be around $US25 million. Other sources have put the figure at around $US5 million.
The amount, when compared to other Star Wars cast members like Harrison Ford, is relatively low and has been blamed on the then-19-year-old Fisher signing away her likeness rights when she signed up for film. Sales of Star Wars models have since made hundreds of millions of dollars.
Carrie famously wrote Postcards from the Edge, a 1987 semi-autobiographical best-selling novel that was later adapted into a motion picture.
She also wrote a one-woman play from the screenplay for the movie called Wishful Drinking, which was commercially successful.
Todd described his niece Billie as “very successful” in her own right, starring in the Fox TV series Scream Queens alongside Lautner (from Twilight) and Emma Roberts.
“We’re very proud of her. She’s handling this with amazing strength,” he revealed. “Obviously, we are all heartbroken. Everybody is doing their best to pull together, but it’s just a shock.”
Todd said exact arrangements for Carrie’s funeral were still to be made but admitted the family was likely to hold two services.
“We’ll have a small family thing and then likely there will be a wider body of people involved in a second service,” he said.
Todd added that his sister might be laid to rest near the burial plot already picked out for his mum in southern California.
Todd also thanked his sister’s many fans for their support.
“Everyone has deep feelings about Carrie for one reason or another. That’s what’s so brilliant about her. “She inspired so many people. I have 1435 emails to get to today, and they’re all about her. My normal load would be 30 to 50,” he said. “She will be sorely missed.”
