Prince Harry and Meghan Markle make rare joint appearance at New York gala
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have made a rare joint appearance in matching black suits while being honoured at a gala in New York.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made a rare joint appearance as they attended a glitzy gala in New York on Friday, arriving at the event holding hands.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were all smiles as they walked the red carpet for the annual Project Healthy Minds’ World Mental Health Day Gala, during which they were honoured for their ongoing charity work.
The glamorous pair went matchy-matchy for the event held at Spring Studios, with both suiting up in black ensembles.

Meghan, 44, opted for a sleek Armani pants suit which she accessorised with a chunky gold chain necklace, while Harry, 41, complemented his wife in a classic black suit of his own.
The couple were presented with the Humanitarians of the Year award for their charitable efforts through their Archewell Foundation, among other things such as online safety for children.

“Working with families and young people to prioritise safety online has been some of the most meaningful work of [their] lives,” Harry and Meghan – who are parents to two young children, Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4 – said in a statement ahead of the gala.
“As parents ourselves, we have been moved to action by the power of their stories and are honoured to support them. We’re proud to be long-time partners of Project Healthy Minds as we work together to shine a light on what remains one of the most pressing issues of our time.”
The couple’s surprise red carpet outing comes just days after Meghan made her debut appearance at Paris Fashion Week.
The duchess flew to Paris from their family home in Montecito to witness fashion designer Pierpaolo Piccioli’s first runway show as creative director of Balenciaga.
For the event, Meghan opted for the minimalist look, looking elegant in a white cape with a silky button-down underneath – the outfit, of course, was full Balenciaga.
After the show, she changed into another Balenciaga ensemble, this time a black dress that also had draping detail by the neckline.
Last month it was Harry who was out of town, flying back to his original home in London on September 10 to reunite with his dad King Charles. This was the estranged pair’s first meeting in 19 months.
Following that meeting, the duke told The Guardian in an interview that “the focus” of his upcoming year “really has to be on my dad”.
Harry said that he is hoping to bring his kids back to the UK to see their grandfather, who announced last year he had been diagnosed with an undisclosed cancer.
“This week has definitely brought that closer,” Harry told the outlet of his goals for a reunion.
