The Vanity Fair Oscars after-party saw its fair share of eyebrow-raising outfits this year, but none was more daring than Julia Fox’s nearly-nude number.
The 35-year-old actress and model was clad in a completely sheer, ankle-length dress with swirling pieces of strategically placed hair offering a little modesty across her chest and crotch.
The look was very reminiscent of Bianca Censori’s recent red carpet moment on the Grammys red carpet, but with more of a Botticelli’s Birth of Venus vibe.
Fox’s own tresses were curled into dark, mermaid waves and loosely plaited in a way that seamlessly flowed into the hair extensions woven into her dress. She kept her makeup simple with bleached brows and a nude lip adding an otherworldly quality to her overall look.
Interestingly, the Uncut Gems star briefly dated Kanye West in 2022 and has since expressed regret over the weeks-long relationship, saying she felt she was “being used as a pawn”.
Elsewhere on the Vanity Fair red carpet, Olivia Wilde also went quite sheer in a lacy Chloe gown that was mostly transparent, although this one had ruffles placed over her chest and the actress wore a matching pair of cream briefs beneath her see-through skirt.
Also showing a bit of skin was Hari Nef in a champagne-coloured Valentino gown with ruffles along the bodice, sleeves and hem.
Zoe Kravitz was a little cheeky in a slinky black dress featuring a cutout over her bottom. The frock was otherwise very conservative with a collarbone-skimming neckline and long sleeves.
Miley Cyrus kept it simple in a strapless black gown, with her bleached brows and new haircut taking centre stage.
Sarah Paulson made a statement of a different kind in a very puffy red dress by Marc Jacobs.
Euphoria star Hunter Schafer wore a plunging gold slip dress by 16Arlington which she paired with a textured cream and black jacket.
Cynthia Erivo was wrapped in a white tulle Vivienne Westwood frock with black bow embellishments on one side.
