Travis Kelce has reportedly stepped up in the wake of his girlfriend Taylor Swift’s dad’s major heart surgery.
In fact, the NFL star, 35, “went into total caregiver mode” following Scott Swift’s quintuple bypass, a source told the Daily Mail Thursday.
The source said Kelce has been “making sure” Taylor, also 35, has been eating by ordering takeout meals for her.
The Kansas City Chiefs’ player has reportedly also been checking in on Scott directly.
“This was their first crisis together, and Travis was doing everything right,” the source explained.
“If Taylor wasn’t ready to marry him before, she sure is now. They were in love before, but now it seems unbreakable.”
Furthermore, the source claimed that Kelce has been added to the Swift family group chat.
Reps for the couple did not immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.
Scott, 73, underwent the surgery over a month ago, Taylor’s rep announced Wednesday.
The pop superstar, her brother, Austin Swift, 33, and Scott’s wife of 37 years, Andrea Swift, 67, were by his side from the operation through the recovery process.
Swift’s dad is “feeling just great” now, the spokesman added.
Quintuple bypass surgery is a complex procedure done to treat people with five severely blocked major arteries that feed the heart, according to Verywell Health.
Recovery time after the procedure generally lasts several weeks to months, with most people able to resume normal activities within six to 12 weeks.
Swift has had a close bond with her parents all her life.
Swift senior, who worked as a financial adviser for Merrill Lynch, relocated his family to outside of Nashville when Taylor was 14 so she could pursue her dreams of becoming a singer.
Since then, the star’s parents have continued to support their songstress daughter by attending concerts and supporting her relationship with Travis Kelce.
Swift’s mum, Andrea, has battled cancer twice over the years with Swift revealing her mum’s initial diagnosis in a Tumblr post in 2015.
“I’d like to keep the details of her condition and treatment plans private, but she wanted you to know,” the Cruel Summer singer told fans at the time.
“She wanted you to know why she may not be at as many shows this tour. She’s got an important battle to fight.”
Four years later, Swift wrote in an essay for Elle magazine that her mum’s cancer had returned before she was then diagnosed with a brain tumour during treatment.
“It’s taught me that there are real problems and then there’s everything else,” she wrote.
Andrea’s cancer battle inspired the singer’s 2019 song Soon You’ll Get Better featuring the Dixie Chicks from her album Lover.
In the essay, Taylor also revealed her dad had previously been diagnosed with cancer as well, though she didn’t elaborate on his condition.
