Rocker Sid Wilson of the heavy metal band Slipknot was hospitalised this weekend after suffering “severe burns.”
“My face is burnt and my cheeks,” the turntablist, 47, said during an Instagram Live he posted from his hospital bed. “I had an explosion in my face.”
He then reassured his followers, “I’m OK. I’m going to be OK, but I did have some serious burns in my face and my arms.”
Wilson gave his fans a close-up look of his injuries, which included singed eyebrows, a blister on his mouth and several burn marks all over his face and arms.
The DJ said that doctors were making sure there was no internal damage as well, as they had done some X-rays on his chest to confirm he didn’t “inhale any flames.”
However, his body knew it had experienced a level of trauma as he was shaking as he held his phone.
In a separate video shared on Instagram, Wilson gave more insight into what occurred.
The keyboardist shared that he was “out working on the farm” that he shares with girlfriend Kelly Osbourne in Iowa, trying to stoke a bonfire, when it exploded.
Osbourne, who went to the hospital with Wilson, gave a stern warning via her Instagram Stories Friday, “This is why you don’t f**k with burn piles.”
Osbourne — who was holding her and Wilson’s 1-year-old son, Sidney, on her lap at the time — added, “He literally set himself on fire; exploded everything. Ugh.”
Osbourne, 39, then shared a second Instagram Story that showed her baby boy adorably playing with his toys inside the hospital room as his father laid in bed recovering.
The Osbournes podcaster let out a deep sigh and put a “I Have No Words” GIF over her video.
Wilson reassured his fans, though, that he was “going to be alright” and said he would do “what it takes” to see them on tour again.
The rocker also shared later on Friday that he was being transported to another facility where they could better treat his burns.
He concluded in his caption, “Im going to be OK everyone. Love you all.”
