Queen Mary’s son, Prince Christian, towers over 6ft dad, King Frederik

Queen Mary’s eldest son has just finished his final high school exams and the photos reveal that he is towering over his parents.

Denmark’s Crown Prince Christian was seen towering over his royal parents after completing his final school exam.

It may seem like only months ago that Mary, an Aussie who was, at the time, working in marketing, and King Frederik, the heir to the Danish throne, met at a pub in Sydney and fell in love, but their son Christian is now all grown up.

The strapping 18-year-old beamed proudly as he stood between both parents for the rite of passage moment.

King Frederik is around 6 feet tall and their son Christian is quite the gorgeous giant.

Christian has taken after both his parents, he brunette, blue eyed and has inherited a lovely, clear complexion.

The future King was also wearing a little cap, which wasn’t a fashion choice. Instead, it is Danish tradition to wear a graduation hat.

Family members put the hat on the graduate’s head once they finish their final exam. I guess it’s good practice for when, eventually, someone will put a crown on Christian’s head.

The high school graduate opted for a nice button-up and some white pants for his graduation moment, but kept it Gen Z casual by pairing it with sneakers.

His younger siblings Vincent, 13, Josephine, 13, and Isabella, 17, were all there to support him and kept with the casual footwear theme.

Vincent and Isabella wore sneakers, and Josephine chucked on some sandals. Queen Mary went more regal and wore some strappy heels and King Frederik wore some classic black dress shoes for the occasion.

The family went with a Hampton vibe for the occasion and heavily embraced white clothing items. Vincent got the white shorts out, Mary and Josephine wore white tops, and Isabella threw on a white skirt.

Prince Christian will be next in line for the throne, his dad became king in January 2024 after his mother, Queen Margrethe II, 83, abdicated from the throne.

It is unknown what Christian’s plans are after school, but he’ll likely be heading to university. For right now, though, he has some fun ahead of him.

According to Danish tradition, the last weekend of June is for school leavers to let loose in the streets.

Unlike Aussies, who send all the graduates to Queensland to get wild, the Danish turn the whole thing into a bit of a street parade.

The streets are taken over by graduates packed onto trucks, dancing, partying, playing loud music, eating, and drinking.

The trucks then typically stop at fellow school mates parent’s houses and pull in for a drink or something to eat. The whole thing is a big community celebration.
