William and Kate’s new $32m mansion forces neighbours to move out
Princess Catherine and Prince William’s relocation to their multimillion “forever home” has displaced two families from their small cottages, it has been claimed.
Princess Catherine and Prince William’s move into their new family mansion has forced two families to move out of their nearby cottages.
The claim came as old pictures of the royal pair’s new home, the $32-million Forest Lodge in Windsor Great Park, emerged.
The images, from a renovation in 2001, give royal fans a glimpse inside the eight-bedroom mansion.
The royal couple and their three children are planning to leave Adelaide Cottage to move into their new residence, which will be their “forever home”.
Because of this, two separate families who lived in cottages next to Forest Lodge were asked to vacate their properties earlier this year, according to the Daily Mail.
“They were told to move out. I guess they were given somewhere else, but they were told they had to move,” a source told the outlet. “They were not expecting it.”
“Those houses are very close to the lodge, so they’re not going to want any Tom, Dick or Harry living in those houses if there are going to be royals there,” the source added.
According to the report, the families were tenants of the Crown Estate.
They weren’t given eviction notices and they have since moved to similar or better housing elsewhere in the area.
The move to the property is intended to be long-term, lasting even after Prince William ascends to the throne, meaning he will be the first monarch not to live in a palace or a castle when he succeeds his father as king, The Times reports.
‘FRESH START’: KATE, WILLIAM MOVING HOUSE
It comes after it was revealed that the royal pair will relocate to Forest Lodge with their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
“The Wales family will move house later this year,” a spokesperson at Kensington Palace confirmed to Page Six.
The royal couple moved to Adelaide Cottage in Berkshire in 2022 to be close to their children’s Lambrook School.
“Windsor has become their home,” a royal insider told The Sun. “However, over the last few years while they have lived at Adelaide Cottage there have been some really difficult times.”
“Moving gives them an opportunity for a fresh start and a new chapter; an opportunity to leave some of the more unhappy memories behind,” the source added.
The royal pair are also reportedly using their own money to pay the full cost to renovate their new dream house, and insiders claimed that they will also not have any live-in staff.
William and Catherine were living at Adelaide Cottage, which is not far from Windsor Castle, when the Princess was diagnosed with cancer last year.
KATE’S TOUCHING VIDEO MESSAGE
Princess Catherine has urged people to “simply love, and be loved” as she released the second instalment of a video project that began during her recovery from cancer.
The newly released clip Summer, the second in her series of quarterly films, features beauty spots including Anglesey in Wales and the south coast of England.
It is the latest chapter of her Mother Nature series, which is inspired by the solace she took from the beauty of the countryside during her cancer journey.
The royal does not feature in the video visually and instead provides the voiceover for the film, which was released on Kensington Palace’s social media channels.
In a written message posted to Instagram, Princess Catherine said: “Our lives flourish when we cherish the bonds of love and friendship. It has never been more important to appreciate the value of one another, and of Mother Nature. Here’s to Summer. C”.
Kensington Palace said the new summer episode “remains rooted in nature but also captures meaningful human interactions and embraces the joy of connection”.
The video shows idyllic scenes, with children running through fields and playing in the great outdoors.
It also features a group of young ballet dancers from The Royal Ballet School, filmed in Richmond Park.
In her voiceover, Catherine said: “Summer is a season for abundance. Just as the flowers bloom and the fruits ripen, we too are reminded of our own potential for growth.
“It is the time to ignite our inner fire and explore our own creativity, passions, and dreams.”
NEW DETAILS ON ANDREW’S ‘NASTY’ KATE REMARKS
Prince Andrew’s alleged “nasty” comments about Princess Catherine sparked his ongoing feud with his nephew, Prince William, according to a royal biographer.
The disgraced Duke of York, 65, has been estranged from both Prince William and Harry for years — with recent reports suggesting that the Prince of Wales, 43, sees his uncle as a “problem”.
Andrew made several “rude” and “unkind” remarks about the Princess of Wales, according to prominent royal author Andrew Lownie, who details various titbits about the duke in his latest biography, Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York.
Mr Lownie added that the alleged remarks came from a place of jealousy, as the duke was envious that Princess Catherine had become a key figure of the Royal Family following the death of Queen Elizabeth II in 2022.
The alleged comments had resulted in the breakdown of his relationship with the future king, Mr Lownie claims.
“I can’t see how anyone could make unkind comments about Kate when she’s been the family’s saving grace,” Mr Lownie told Radar Online.
“It surprised me, but people do get jealous,” he added. “I’d have thought Prince Andrew would respect William as future king though” than to be “nasty about his wife.”
It’s not known exactly what was said about the future queen; however, Mr Lownie suggested that the remarks prompted William to turn his back on his scandal-scarred uncle.
What’s more, he added that William had grown increasingly frustrated with his uncle over the past few years.
“William has a very strong sense of public duty and is doing his best to keep the show on the road,” Mr Lownie said. “He’s all about doing things the right way and has enough on his plate without having to think about his uncle.”
“Everyone is pulling together — Charles, Anne, Edward, William and others — but the whole side has been let down by Prince Andrew,” he added.
Indeed, Andrew’s fate within the monarchy had been reportedly decided by William already.
Insiders claimed that the Duke will not be returning as a working member of the royal family under William’s reign, as he and Kate reportedly see Andrew as a “risk” and “threat” to the Firm — given his previous connections to registered sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and alleged Chinese spy Yang Tengbo.
Additionally, Mr Lownie spoke to sources that suggested William will be eager to evict Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, from the Royal Lodge, where the pair have lived since 2004.
“He [William] also loathes Sarah, Andrew’s ex-wife, and can’t wait for the day when his father throws them both out,” a source is quoted in the book.
“If Charles doesn’t, I guarantee you the first thing William does when he eventually becomes king is to get them evicted.”
