‘No!’: Meghan Markle finally puts long-running rumour to bed

Meghan Markle has used her first ever podcast interview to finally address one of the longest running rumours about her.

‘Exhausting and hard to watch’: Meghan Markle slammed for ultimate 'hypocrisy'

Meghan Markle has finally addressed a rumour that has followed her for years - whether she would ever make a venture into politics.

For years now, Meghan has been rumoured to be plotting to find a way into government in order to enact societal change.

Over the years Meghan has dipped her toe into politics. Back in 2021, she reached out to members of US Congress to advocate for paid parental leave, something not readily available in the States compared to much of the West.

However, with her already facing backlash while being in the public eye for essentially any move she makes, it seems Meghan is keen to avoid giving her detractors more ammo to bash her on social media.

“Would you ever run for office?” quizzed Meghan’s pal and IT Cosmetics founder Jamie Kern Lima during the former actress’ first-ever podcast interview.

Meghan replied: “No.”

The host then asked: “Never?” to which Meghan replied again: “No” but then Jamie asked again “Never?”

The duchess then said: “Never. Oh, God. I mean, you could say never, say never. No, I’m not interested in that. No.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Meghan broke down in tears as she spoke openly and honestly about her family and home life.

Meghan has broken down in tears during her first guest appearance on a podcast, becoming overwhelmed with emotion as she spoke in depth about her family.

She shared her appreciation and love for her husband, Prince Harry, affectionately referring to him as “H” as she gave insight into their marriage.

“H, that man loves me so much and you know, look what we’ve built, we’ve built. We have built a beautiful life and we have two healthy beautiful children,” she said.

“I always think about it, when you get the end of Super Mario Bros, the final level and what’s the goal in Super Mario.

“It’s to slay the dragons and save the princess. And that’s my husband, he just out there and constantly doing whatever he can to make sure our family is safe and protected and that we are uplifted – and still make time for date nights.”

Meghan went on to share that unlike most couples, they couldn’t enjoy the so-called “honeymoon period” of their romance due to the intense scrutiny they faced from the public.

“You have to imagine, at the beginning it’s all butterflies - but then we immediately went into the trenches together,” Meghan explained.

“Right out of the gate, like six months into dating. So now seven years later, when you have a little bit of breathing space, you can just enjoy each other in a new way. And that’s why I feel like it’s more of a honeymoon period for us now.”
