Donald Trump tried to get the ‘gossip’ on Meghan Markle on his UK trip

Palace insiders have revealed US President Donald Trump reportedly asked Queen Camilla to spill the royal tea on Meghan Markle – and the monarch had a response ready to go.

US President Donald Trump reportedly pressed Queen Camilla for “gossip” about Meghan Markle during his visit to Britain last month.

“So what’s the gossip on Meghan then? What’s going on there?” Mr Trump asked the queen according to a source quoted in The Royalist Substack newsletter.

Diplomatically removing herself from the conversation, Queen Camilla is said to have crossed her wrists, mimicking that her hands were tied and signalling she was unable to discuss the subject.

The revelation came after the Duchess of Sussex came home to California following a whirlwind trip of the US east coast.

The royal celebrated her return by attending a dinner party hosted by LA-based British businesswoman Emma Grede who helped the Kardashian sister found their brands Skims and Good American.

Ms Grede posted images of the party, noting the menu was plant-based and the wine had been supplied by Meghan’s lifestyle brand As ever.

“In a city built on big dreams and even bigger ambition, one truth remains, success is never built alone. For too long, we’ve watched how men in business have mastered this: making deals over dinner, sharing opportunities over a game, and opening doors for one another in rooms we can’t always see,” Ms Grede wrote.

“This dinner series is about making that energy ours. About women coming together to share openly, trade resources, and help each other get s*** done.

“Because when women choose to collaborate, to champion each other, and to speak honestly about the highs and the hard parts, we don’t just change our own stories. We change what’s possible for every woman who follows.”

‘NOT DISSIMILAR TO THE OBAMAS’: MEGHAN REVEALS HER PLANS

Meghan Markle has opened up on what her future at streaming giant Netflix will look like at Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Summit in Washington DC.

The Duchess of Sussex took part in a session titled Next Level Influence: A Conversation With Meghan, Duchess Of Sussex.

The visit to the US capital came following Prince Harry and Meghan’s following trip to New York City where they were honoured with the Humanitarians of the year award at the Project Healthy Minds’ annual World Mental Health Day Gala.

Speaking at the summit, Meghan compared her Netflix partnership to the Obamas’ own deal for their production company Higher Ground.

“My husband and I were in an overall deal with Netflix then, not dissimilar to Higher Ground and the Obamas’ deal, once that had come to its term, the extension of it — which was such an incredible sign of the strength of our partnership — was now being in a first-look deal,” Meghan said in response to a question from the panel moderator according to People magazine.

“Which is also exciting because it gives us flexibility to go to our partners first, then at the same time, shop content that might not be the right fit for Netflix but has a home somewhere else.”

When asked if With Love, Meghan will renew for season three, the duchess instead spoke about the special holiday reboot.

“Well, the holiday special is coming out in November. It’s a really good one,” she said, adding she would showcase the “advanced gift wrapping” technique she used to offer for a fee between acting auditions.

“That’s not the full circle I was expecting, but here we are.”

When pressed about a full length series, Meghan did not confirm whether it would go ahead.

“So I think looking at that format — again, it’s a year of learns — so we’re able to say, ‘Eight episodes for two seasons — it’s a lot of work,” the duchess said.

Meghan teased her cooking content might be coming to us in bite-sized portions in the future.

“Having done Suits for seven years, I remember what goes into a production. I also recognise how much people want content in different sizes,” she told the audience in Washington DC.

“Part of what we’re testing out now is, it’s amazing to sit and watch a show for 30 minutes, but how can I give you a recipe in two minutes? And where can I share that with you? And how that continues to grow As ever.”

As ever is the Duchess of Sussex’s popular lifestyle brand which sells the likes of a jar of orange marmalade for $18.
